Ministries
My Brothers Keeper
As of May 2012 West Liberty U.M.C. became a partner with the Maryland Food Bank to help end hunger. This partnership enables our church to purchase and distribute quality food and grocery items to serve those in need. On a regular basis we shop for food and groceries and make those items available to anyone in need. This food ministry is known as “My Brothers’ Keeper”. We are truly our brothers’ keeper and must make sure that provisions are made for the physical body.
The main goal of the MD Food Bank is represented in its logo (pictured on the truck). It is a circle which represents their ever increasing fight against hunger. Their mission is Feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders. The MD Food Bank depends on us and all its partners to reach the needs of the community, especially during the very trying times that now exist. Our food pantry is open on Fridays by appointment only. Please contact Nelson Dorsey (443-547-7702) to schedule an appointment

Season
Seasons was one of three Small Group Ministries that grew from a retreat held by West Liberty United Methodist Church (UMC) on October 30, 2010. The purpose of these Ministries was to foster and increase outreach services provided by West Liberty.
Seasons Mission Statement is “to demonstrate God’s love and mercy by providing spiritual and substantive nourishment (food) to those in need”. Seasons Vision Statement is “to provide a stable, consistent and reliable ministry with a focus on families, respect and fellowship as we support the advancement of God’s kingdom”. The Scripture verse which supports Seasons Mission and Vision Statements is “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me” – Matthew 25:35.
Since its inception, Seasons members have provided a number of services to a variety of groups and individuals both within and outside of West Liberty UMC. Included are the provision of meals to shelters serving men, women and children; conducting clothing drives and providing items to various shelters; providing support services (financial assistance, clothing items, food, toys, etc.) to families in need; sponsoring a book drive providing over 13 boxes of books to the Baltimore Reads program; providing hygiene items to shelters and substance abuse programs; providing back to school items, food and clothing for Head Start Centers; facilitating educational sessions with the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services; conducting morning worship services; and providing meals after worship services.
Seasons welcomes those who want to reach out, show God’s love and spread his glory throughout the community.

Caring Hearts/Caring Hands
Our Mission: To love, and serve others by actions, words, and deeds.
Our Scripture: Colossians 3:17
“…And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father through Him. We work together, giving thanks, and praising God to show us His path.”
We live out our ministry by:
- Providing care packages for folks that are homeless
- Preparing love baskets to the sick and shut in
- Prepare Thanksgiving baskets for families
- Adopt families for Christmas to help with wish list and other items needed
- Prepare Easter Baskets for our Sick and Shut In and our children
- Every 5th Sunday worship with Residents at Nursing Facility.
